SAGALASSOS

Since we have the right to interpret the Greek endings "-essos"/"-assos" as Kartvelian "-eti"/"-ati" (the reasons for this have been given in other articles of this book), the word "Sagalassos" turns into the well-known Georgian toponym "Sagaleti" (compare to "Saprangeti" or "Saberdzneti"), where the root is "gal", and the word itself is translated as "country of the Gauls". Anatolia can indeed be considered as such, starting from the third century BC, when Celtic (Gallic) tribes began to migrate en masse to Asia Minor. Compare to Galati.
