SAVOIA

In Spanish and Portuguese, this toponym is written with a "b" - Saboya, which simplifies the Kartvelian interpretation of the name, tying the root to the tribe of "Boii". According to Helmut Birkhahn, the Boii were accepted by the Aedui and settled on their land in Burgundy and Nivernais. The historical land of Savoy is exactly a part of Burgundy.
