KRKONOSE

There are two forests with this name in the Czech Republic. One is located on the Polish border in the Sudetes. The second, the alternative name of which is the "Bavarian Forest", is on the border with Germany. Both contain the word "krko", which in Chubinashvili's dictionary (კრკო) means "acorn". The correspondence is confirmed not so much by the oaks, of which there are many in both Krkonoše, but by the fact that in the Old Slavic language the word "krak" meant "oak".
