The Ukrainian word "базікати" (to chatter, to babble) originates from the Georgian "ბაზიკი" (baziki)—which means "a trained falcon or hawk."

This connection suggests that "базікати" metaphorically refers to the constant vocalizations of a trained bird.

Interestingly, the Panamanian black-backed forest falcon (Micrastur mirandollei) has been observed imitating distress calls of its prey—luring other birds in before catching them.

This reinforces the idea that falcons and hawks are associated with vocal mimicry and persistent calling—just like "базікати."
