SUEBI

The name of this German land comes from the name of the Germanic tribe of Suebi, which in its German spelling is a perfect Georgian plural from the root "sua/sui". The same root is present in the word "svan"/"shuan", and also, as some kartvelologists believe, in the Georgian word "shvili".

Also "svi" means "hops" in Georgian and can produce the "suebi" plural form too.
