The word "Mauritania" also contains the Kartvelian suffix "-et": "Mauretani" <– "Maureti" ("land of the mauri") <– "mauri". Since Mauritania is a land of the Moors, that should be the Georgian word მური (dictionary of Chanturia) in the meaning of "soot".
