The Lubes are an ancient Kartvelian-speaking nation reconstructed within the framework of the project “Between Two Iberias” (see a big article), inhabiting the entire territory between Georgian and Spanish Iberia, that is, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Until today, information about this people has reached us only in numerous toponyms. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that with a high degree of probability the name “Lubes” is translated from Megrelian as “bossom” and may be root for the words “love” and “любовь”, as well as for the Georgian “ლბილი” (“soft”), which characterizes the Lubes and their pre-Indo-European civilization from the most positive side. You see Kartvelian traces all over the world, you see the presence of "Lub-"-root therein.
