KELAT

On Turkish maps of the 19th century, one can find the non-existent today town of Kelat on the shores of Lake Van. It is translated as "land of keli". "Keli" in Kartvelian languages has quite a bunch of meanings, for example, "manure", which was a valuable fertilizer in ancient times. Today, in the place of Kelat, there is another city with the same Zan toponymic suffix - Akhlat. The root "ahli" means "new" in Georgian.
