BEBRYCES

The Anatolian tribe Bebryces (Argonautica) should be pronounced as [bebruki], which is clearly evident from the Greek spelling of the name – Βέβρῠκες. It is a Kartvelian diminutive noun formed from the Kartvelian root "bebri" (ბებრი), which means "old".

The word itself, therefore, translates as "little old man". In the Gori municipality of Georgia there is a village with exactly the same name ბებრუკი [bebruki].
