ARTXANDA

The name of the mountain in Bilbao (pronounced as [archanda]), as suggested by Akaki Machatidze, is translated from Georgian as "was not visible" (არ ჩანდა, [ar chanda]). Indeed, we have a negative prefix "ar-" and a verb form "chanda" of the "chineba" masdar. A very probable etymology for the mountain that was could have been hidden (by fog), but then became visible. Fogs in these places are a constant phenomenon. Also, the mountain is not clearly seen from the Bilbao downtown either.
