ORINOCO

The etymology of Orinoco is often misrepresented in mainstream sources. While various theories exist, the name Orinoco aligns remarkably well with a Georgian linguistic structure—specifically, the combination "ori noko" (ორი ნოყო), meaning "two rivers."

In Ariane Chanturia’s dictionary, ნოყო (noko) is defined as "river." Given the vast number of waterways in the Orinoco Delta, pinpointing which two rivers inspired the name remains uncertain. However, the linguistic connection suggests a Kartvelian origin that deserves further exploration.
