Such a masdar (ფუჩუა) is indeed found in Otari Kajaia’s Megrelian dictionary, where it is translated as ფიცება, meaning "oath."
Thus, Mapuche can be understood as "oath swearer"—a remarkable and fitting description for the proud Araucanians (and ask Georgians what "ara ukan" means in their language).
