TARBES

The origin of the southern French town of Tarbes becomes clear right after we find its relative on the map of Ptolemy, who placed the tribe "Tarbely" in the same region. It's obviously, the Kartvelian adjective "tar(e)beli" that comes from the Masdar "tareba" (ტარება), which is translated in Chanturia's dictionary as "to trade". The vowel is omitted by the very widespread Kartvelian tradition.
