The word "Saracens" was used in medieval literature to refer to the Arabs. The word is Kartvelian (Georgian, to be more precise), which is proven in the following way.
The Arabs have long been considered a metallurgical people. Damascus steel is a proof of this. In Georgian, "steel" is "rkina" (რკინა). Accordingly, "iron deposit" is "sarkine" (სარკინე).
If we now write this word in Latin, we get "Sarcine". And taking into account the duality of the letter "c", which at the initial stage of the history of the Latin language conveyed such different sounds as [k] and [ts], the word "Sarcine" [sarkine] must have been read as "Sarcine" [sartsine], from where "Saracen" is a stone's throw away. In confirmation, the word "Sarkinozeti", which in the Georgian language meant "Arabia", and the word "Sarkinozi", which in Georgian dictionaries means "Arab", "Saracens".
