OLBIA

There were several cities with this name in the ancient world: in Ukraine, Libya, Anatolia, Sardinia. The current name of the one in Libya - Qasr Libya - is, as Wikipedia says without citing the original source, a combination of the Arabic Qasr with ancient Olbia, of which "Libya" is a twisted version.

The equation "Olbia = Libya" becomes clear if we remember that "Libya" is, in fact, "Lubia", and the name "Olbia" is very similar to "Oluba" in Spain and to "Olubia", which is the true reading of the Greek toponym "Olympia". The vowel between "l" and "v" is omitted, similar to the word "Albania". In all the places where there were ancient Olbias, Kartvelian toponyms are recorded. In particular, Ukrainian Olbia was located in the same place where Herodotus placed the Alazons and the Scythian-Georgians.
