"Big" in Basque language is "handi". This word is not preserved in the Georgian Chanturia's dictionary in its pure form, but only as its adjectival derivative "handuri" (ხანდური) meaning "field pea". Note the Georgian trademark "-uri" suffix.
Hence, we have a right to assume that "handi" previously used to mean "field". The word that always associated with a large size. Let's remember that the Georgian field was "veli" with a high degree of probability is the source for the Ukrainian "velikiy" (big).
