In Catalonia and other regions of Spain, the Ukrainian trademark suffix "-enco" is sometimes used to form surnames: Pirinenco, Jijonenco.
Sometimes this suffix is voiced: Albertengo. Sometimes it is replaced by "-eño": Madrileño. It is quite possible that this is an Iberian suffix. In addition, the endings of Basque and Ukrainian infinitives are almost identical: Basque "-atu" versus Ukrainian "-ati" (the difference between the final vowel may be due to the problem of upsilon). Compare Ukrainian "balakati" ("to speak") and Basque
"balakatu" ("to flatter").
