The words "ten", "deci-", "deca-", "diez", "dez", etc., are a traditional Indo-European range with etymology in mystical (ie, non-existent) Proto-Indo-European.
While in the Kartvelian family everything is quite simple. The word დეკა (deka) in Georgian (Chanturia) means "Caucasian rhododendron" (Azalea), which by default has five petals, but the variety "flower within a flower" has ten petals:
"...a flower within a flower (calyx and ten petals)..."
