CZECHIA

Since the official etymology suggests that the country is named after the word "cheta" - "army", we have a right to offer a much more probable interpretation from the Kartvelian point of view. In Georgian, masdar "chehva" (ჩეხვა) means "cutting down trees" ("-va" being the masdar ending). There is no need to explain the significance of this type of activity for the wooded Czech Republic, surrounded on both sides by forests with the same name "Krkonoše" (which, by the way, also includes the Kartvelian root "krko" - "acorn").
