CARPATHI

The mountains known to the world as "Carpathians", in fact, are just "Carpathi" in Ukrainian. The toponym is translated from Zan morpheme-by-morpheme as "land of the Carps". A tribe with exactly this name - "Carpiani" is placed by Ptolemy exactly in the Carpathian region. While their clear cognate "Carpe(n)tani" tribe is placed by the same Ptolemy in Iberia.
