After Lazona, Albania and Hungary, the next country with the signature endings "-shi" in local surnames is Algeria: Chaouchi (Shaushi), Hannachi (Hannashi), Kouachi (Kouachi), Kourichi (Kurishi), Laachi (Laashi), Merakchi (Merakshi), Zemmouchi (Zemmushi), Lamouchi (Lamushi), Guechi (Geshi), Harrachi (Harrachi).
In addition, in many surnames ending in "-che" the final "-e" is not pronounced due to the requirements of the French language. In the pre-French era, this vowel was pronounced. Like Albania, Algeria and all of North Africa show unambiguous Kartvelian roots en masse: Argelia, Kabyles, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauretania, Libya, Egypt, etc.
