VARESE

The Alpine town in Italy is definitely related to the name "Bari", since in ancient times it was called "Baretum", which is undoubtedly a Latinized Kartvelian toponym "Bareti" - "land of the plains". Although this sounds strange for a town in the Alps, Varese is indeed a town on a plain adjacent to the mountains. The "-ese" suffix is well-known, leaving us with "bar-" as the true root.
