SICILY

The name of Sicily in ancient texts is often written with a "u". For example, by Diodorus Siculus. This gives grounds to assume that the word "Siculus" includes the Kartvelian adjective "sikuli", formed from the noun "sika". Such a noun does exist in the Georgian dictionary - "სიქა" - and it is translated as "strength". Thus, "sikuli" (სიქული) is translated as "strong", which allows us to expand our understanding of the ancient Sicilians. By the way, is it a coincidence that Homer inhabited Sicily with enormous cyclops of extraordinary strength?
