SASCUPO

The toponym Sascupo is present in Italian Perugia. Its Kartvelian interpretation suggests that the root here is "scup-", and the whole word is translated as "country of the Skup". How to interpret the Georgian word "skupi" you'll know from a corresponding article in our project. In a nutshell, "the Skupians" is the correct name for those whom we are accustomed to calling "Scythians". And the presence of such a toponym in central Italy is the first clear recording of the presence of the Scythians in the Apennines.
