NARIKALA

Etymology within the Georgian language. "Narikala" is not Mongolian, as Georgians themselves think, but a purely Georgian word ნარიყალა. It is a substantiated adjective ნარიყალი ("narikali", both of these words are in Chanturia), which, in turn, is a construction "na+rik(e)+al+i".

The root is the word "რიყე" (rike) - "riverside rocks" (the fortress is located near the Mtkvari River). Well, with the prefix "na-" and the suffix "-al" everything is clear.
