MEGRELIAN SAILORS IN COLUMBUS' CREW

So far the information about Megrelians in Columbus's team existed in the form of a legend. It turned out that it can be verified. The list of Columbus's team is easy to find today, even without leaving home. Anyone can try their hand at proving the megrelianity of such surnames as Yruenes, Azoque, Moguer, Urtubia, Soria or, perhaps, even Pinzón himself. Maybe it will work, maybe not. But! ...
The same list contains a separate column for "wrong people". Those who were mistakenly considered members of Columbus's team. There you will find the surname Eguía [egia] (a district in San Sebastian), which completely coincides with the Megrelian surname ეგია [егиа], originating from Tsalenjikha in Samegrelo-Zemo.
