LÜBECK

Lübeck leads a whole group of German toponyms containing the root "lub": Lubbecke, Lubben, Lubbenau, Loburg and Liblar. Most likely, all of these names, as well as an even larger group of related toponyms in Poland, Ukraine and Belarus, have a direct relation to the "Liub" tribe mentioned in the Tale of Bygone Years.
