AQUITAINE

Since this region of southern France clearly falls into the group of similar-sounding Iberian tribes ("-itani"/"-etani") in neighboring Spain, there is no point in not trying to interpret the root name from the Kartvelian point of view. Especially since Chanturia's dictionary offers a surprising translation for the word "akviti" (აქვიტი), which may be the root of the adjective "akvitani": "grass under the snow."
