AGUR

"Agur!" is a trademark Basque greeting.

Jan Potocki in the "Manuscrito hallado en Zaragoza" testifies that in the 18th century the Basque greeting "Agur!" could be heard very far from the Basque lands, in the Sierra Morena mountains, practically in Andalucia.
More precisely, "agur" is not a greeting exclamation, but a farewell, translated into Spanish as "se acabó", that is, "finished". In addition, in the Basque language "agure" means "old man".

Now let's look for the meaning of the word "agur" in the Kartvelian languages. For example, in Megrelian, according to Otar Kajaia's dictionary, the word "აღურა" [agura], also known as "ღურა" [gura], means "death". Absolutely connected to the phrase "finished" and the word "old man".
